solar panels, energy tax rebatesAfter going to school out in Arizona and visiting my grandma there countless times growing up I never understood why more homes weren’t solar PV equipped. Near ASU, there is a power company utilizing massive solar panels for consumer energy but at the residential and even commercial level there are far less solar panels then you would expect in a place which sees sun 340 days of the year. I think there should be some sort of state wide legislation to require solar panels on new home construction from here on out. There are energy tax rebates for people who are sick of high set on by desert heat electricity bills but it is not a big enough push.

In a perfect world, the majority of homes in the Southwest region would have solar panels. Think about how much more comfortable life would be if you didn’t have to worry about putting your AC to low in fear of high electrical costs. Trust me, I have lived it. My grandma is from the old school and a native to the desert so her house is always hot, really hot. Life in the desert is so much better when you can escape the sun without worrying about utility costs.
