The defining moment when I started really taking notice to the environment occurred at of all places my friend’s grandparents. I was over there for dinner and before the food was on the table we watched a Blu-Ray documentary on the planet. The focus was rare wildlife, hard to reach environments and natural wonders. In super high definition on a very large flat screen, I sat in awe watching Polar Bears trek across thinning ice, birds migrate around Mt. Everest and mountain lions hunt on precarious stone ledges. Along with fantastic wild life, there were back-stories on everything from grasslands to glacial movement at the poles. The whole experience was a complete reminder how awesome this planet is.
Since then I have been going green. Not as extreme as some but I’m defiantly thinking about the environment more then I did in the past. It is easy to forget how spectacular the undeveloped world is living in a city center but documentaries helped me see the light. First upgrade I’m going with after buying a home down the road is solar panels.
