energy tax rebates, going greenI had a question about the accountant our family uses last night and called up the parents. They had the answer and we started talking about write-offs, quarterly estimates and a bunch of boring financial stuff not worth mentioning. What is worth mentioning is their anticipation for energy tax rebates this year. The word rebate when talking about the IRS is always a good thing. I wish it would be worked into out accountant’s vocabulary more often. 2009 was a great year for going green in this country. So is this one but last year the government and many states created new laws to entice people to spend on Energy Star products. My family installed a new HVAC unit and instant water heater.

Instant water heaters should become standard in parts of the country normally in a drought. What’s the point of storing a vat of hot water that may or may not be used when there are alternatives today that create instant heat on command? Going green is becoming easier and easier. Energy tax rebates are just the icing on the cake.
