going green, solar panelsAmerican has gone in and out of recessions since the Declaration of Independence was signed in July 1776. Being such an industrious nation means having ups and downs. The ups come from an emerging market, which captivates the country and then world. We saw this with the first automobile, computer, internet and now going green tech may be the answer to turning this economy around. Something has to happen. Our government has reorganized our fiscal policy but it still calls for in the red spending. This will never change. We are a capitalistic place built on leverage. What will happen is a new market of technology.

All signs are pointing towards tech to reduce the stress we created on the environment during the earlier build years. The world has jumped on board the going green mission too. The market is there, now the products need to start being sold. Solar panels have been and are still growing in popularity. Websites like American National Solar at http://www.americannationalsolar.com/ are examples of people spreading this UV powered message.

It won’t stop at solar panels though. While taking real estate courses I found out about LEED certification. Basically, structures which meet the highest level of going green get this stamp of approval. What it means is very high resale rates, the highest degree of building tech and a much smaller footprint on our environment.
The world is looking for the next big thing to come around and save us from financial meltdown. I really believe our passion for going green will be it. The obstacle standing in our way is price. Being a recession it is hard to find people willing to spend thousands of extra dollars even when it means saving in the long run. This is 2010 and as time passes technology and innovation will drop the price on things like solar panels. California has done a great job at offering big tax credits for people willing to shell out the cash to go green.

It is hard to say what the future holds but I don’t see the environment becoming less of an important issue as time flies by. I predict within my own lifetime the entire way infrastructure is built will be reworked to better suit the planet. Getting there will be a long road but one we must travel. Going green has gone from a buzz word used by politicians to possibly the next American boom market. Time will tell.
