environment, global warming Now some of the luster of the New Year has worn off, it is time to get back into the swing of things. For many people, this is the first day back to work from the holidays. When talking the environment there are a lot of goals to accomplish in 2010, worldwide. Looking around the Southern California metropolitan area where I live the environment is always on the mind. Every morning thick with smog or while looking at the sea of freeway gridlock during rush hour reminds me of Global Warming and what we are doing to slow it down. I’m not someone to jump on the bandwagon especially when it comes to Global Warming. It is happening, we all know that, but the jury is out on the effect people can have on slowing it down. We obviously can all make a difference, no one knows how big of a difference though.

How I see it, as a country we need to work on lowing carbon emissions if not to slow Global Warming, to clean up the way we live. This is why I support going green. It is just the future of how things need to be done. We are a very advanced society. Even though people in the 50’s thought we would be flying around in hydrogen powered hover cars by 2010, we have come very far. As an advanced civilization, it is time we perfect how we interact with the nature around us.

Populations are only growing so we need to figure out a better way to account for this instead of urban sprawl, waste and pollution creating ideas. 2010 is going to be an interesting year for the environment. Many politicians worldwide have made promises about cleaning up the environment, this year we will start to see how the promises translate into the real world.

I have all the hope we will start going green much more in this new decade. Websites like American National Solar at http://www.americannationalsolar.com/ is one of many examples of how we as a country want to be kinder to the environment. Plus things like solar panels, efficient cars, water recycling plants and the like make life cheaper. The more efficient we get the less monthly bills on utilities there will be. Now I don’t know anyone who is opposed to having less bills every month. So I am trying to start 2010 off on the right foot by driving less, recycling more and only using the facets when needed.
