Today's photovoltaic market.

The push to design green has turned the photovoltaic market into a $4 billion global industry that grows an average of 20% to 25% a year. Richard King, team leader for photovoltaics research and development for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), says the U.S. photovoltaic industry currently generates about 120MW a year, but by 2020, the nation could produce a few... Photovoltaic Cells Are Totally Magical

photovoltaic cells

With so many people looking for new way to power their homes photovoltaic cells are becoming more and more popular. I was talking to a friend of mine who studied physics in college and he was explaining to me how photovoltaic cells work. He mentioned that there are some materials which give off free electrons after being exposed to sunlight and photovoltaic cells are made... Read More

Solar Panels: Are They Worth It?

solar panels, photovoltaic cells Solar Panels: Are They Worth It?

I was looking for greener options for energy in my home? After some research I thought solar panels were a great option for creating energy in my home by using photovoltaic cells.

I learned that photovoltaic cells are basically solar panels that harness the heat, and ultraviolet rays from the sun, and transfers it into usable energy. This... Read More

Photovoltaic Cells Explained But Not Understood

solar pv, photovoltaic cells<--Process Simplified

I will be the first to tell you that I had no idea what photovoltaic cells were before doing some research for this post. They sound like something Dr. Octopus would use to take down Spiderman. Photovoltaic cells convert sunlight into electricity. When sunrays, which carry photons hit a PV cell they are either reflected, absorbed or pass through... Read More
